Hong Kong Sights, Sounds and Hotels
Man Mo Temple in Hong Kong on Hollywood Road is Hong Kong Island’s oldest temple and was erected in 1847. It is dedicated to Man, the god of Literature, and Mo, the god of War and the fragrance of incense fills the air around the two statues. When a prayer is being offered the temple bell and a drum are sounded to attract the gods’ attention. Should you want to know what fate has in store for you take one of the bamboo cylinders and shake it until one of the sticks falls out. The number on the stick relates to a written fortune, which can be translated from a book on sale in the temple.
Hong Kong's Man Mo Temple is one of the quaint temples that you will discover in Hong Kong city. You will discover too that there is a complimentary selection of fine Hong Kong hotels.
